3-Gun Match

3-Gun/Multi-Gun is USPSA style shooting matches using steel, cardboard, clay pigeon and
paper targets. These matches use rifles, shotguns, pistols, and pistol caliber carbines (PCC).
Rifles are limited to 308 or lower caliber, pistols and PCCs are limited to 45 and lower caliber.
No magnum, steel penetrator, or tracer rounds are allowed.
Courses of fire use props to simulate walls, openings, and shooting areas to test shooter’s
accuracy, speed, and agility. Like USPSA, these matches are scored using “time plus penalties”
protocols.

3-Gun/Multi-Gun matches take place in the Cowboy Town area and the Multipurpose range of
the Unified Sportsmens Range (USC) located west of Rexburg, Idaho. During matches these
areas are limited to competitors/observers only.

3-Gun/Multi-Gun takes place:
● the first Friday/Saturday of the month from January 6 and 7 2023 to April 2023
● then shift to the second Friday/Saturday and the fifth Friday/Saturday(when it occurs)
starting March 31 & April 1 and continuing thru October 6 & 7.
● During November and December 2023, the matches will shift to the first Friday/Saturday
of the month.
Setup usually occurs on the days of the week leading up to the match. Since Cowboy Town is
used for other matches during these months, the Match Director (Miller) typically coordinates
with the Tactical and Cowboy Match directors to ensure they are aware personnel are in the
area. In addition, whenever 3-Gun/Multi-Gun personnel are in Cowboy Town for set-up, the red
“In-Use” flag is raised and “Range Closed for Maintenance” sign is placed in the roadway near
the Cowboy Town gate.
